First Day Of 2012!

It's the first day of 2012 and my first post of the year! I have been waiting for this year for about 4 years now since I first heard the stories about the world ending in 2012! I remember when I used to be glued to the ocmputer searching for all the stuff surrounding the 2012 phenomenon and I just kept getting engrossed in it... I guess I just have to wait 12 months now, and have to get past the huge hurdle of 'A' Levels this year.Sighs. It just seems like an ordinary day though, but today I felt like taking pictures of clothes I bought fom Haji Lane some time ago! I love the styles at Haji Lane it's so full of Boho-chic stuff and features the creativity of Singaporean Designers...Although it's a little pricey over there, but I think it's worth it!

Also had a little snack...Being vegetarian, people don't get why I prefer to eat vegetables and not animals...
They find me weird for eating a bowl of salad over a beefy hamburger. I just feel guilty about munching on something that once had feelings, emotions and life...But what more people odn't get is why I like to have crunchy, lefy vegies as a snack and I even bring them to school sometimes! It's like my comfort food I guess.. And I remember one saying that my mom always repeats to me...

''One Man's Meat is Another Man's Poison''

Well, in this case, it's vegetables...

Right now they're sawing off the ceiling!!! I don't know how long it'll take but hopefully I can get back to my room soon! The drilling is sooo dam loud I have to resort to eating in the kitchen!!:(

Back from Taiwan!

OMG this trip was so fun but tiring! Bought sooo many nice stuff!
Here's a summary...

Day 1 Taipei

The Flight to Taiwan was at 12pm but we had to check in 2 hrs earlier.Because the interior designer came over to do some last minute confirmation of the design, we didn't get ready to leave until 9:40am.And because my dad didn't book the cab correctly, we waited for 10min before comfort cab called us back to confirm our cab.So we were off to the Airport. When we arrived in Taiwan, it was freaking cold... It was like 6pm and the sun was down and temperature was like 12 degrees...We then went to shop at a night market and I got to try the smelly tofu which I loved and bittergourd juice which was rather nasty...The sad thing abt today was the beggars.I saw sooo many beggars and some did not have hands and legs and were kissing the floor repeatedly for donations. My mom gave him some coins.

Me & my Mom on the plane

Beautiful night market

Their famous bittergourd juice. They mix it with honey so it's really quite nice

Buying my smelly tofu which I REALLY loved! best street dish!!!

Day 2

Today was also shopping again.Got this fabulous bag at only 16 SGD and some dirty stuff...
LOL look at my mom's face
We were sooo shocked when we saw this. but it was just bread. I got one and ate it...My first dick

Yummm With mustard somemore...

My mom actually allowed me to buy these keychains as souveneirs for my friends!

Day 3

Shopped at a. Street market.I lived the food! Especially the famous 'iron egg' and vegetarian popiahs! We Also took a bullet train to our next destination, Hualien. The night was filled with anger.Because while trying to photograph me and my brother, my dad fell into a pond and got his pants wet(no pun intended) and he was fuming mad and blamed it on me and my brother which got us mad...After that, we went back to the hotel...

Enjoying my century egg and tofu..A local delicacy

Day 4

Freaking tired .Woke up and saw my dark circles got worse...Bad start to the morning.Today was pretty much bland with long bus rides to Taitung.Where there were hot springs.Tried the personal one in our hotel room...Then we released lanterns into the skies with our wishes written on it...
Releasing our lanterns into the sky...
Our lantern was the last to float into the sky which was really scary cause' everyone else's lanterns were already high up in the sky and it'll be so embarrassing if ours was the only that was left on the ground. But luckily after help from people around, it floated slowly into the sky...

Day 5

Fucking tired because I only slept for 3 hours last night.Kept up by my dad's snoring.I was sooo irritated. Swore that I will be sleeping alone today...Today we went to a pearl store and my mum got me some powdered pearl for my insomnia .Apparently it's a cure for that. and then we went to a so called 'cat's nose cliff' where a stone is supposed to look like a rock. Then we took a boat to Sun Moon Lake.Small cozy island with many stores. So we shopped alot...
On the rock cliffs..

To me it just looked like a rock...

Day 6&7

PLAYED ALOT! Got this crazy nice pair of shoes at a night market and went on nice amusement rides at the Cultural center.Took a rollercoaster and high drop! So fun! and to end off our trip, we visited the observatory in Taipei 1O1! Gorgeous view...

 More and More food!!!

I fell in love with this whole rack of shoe design...

But decided to go with this rainbow coloured pair...

SOOOO NICE I LOVE IT!!!

When it dropped it was the scariest 4 seconds of my life...

The cars really looked like ants...

So that was it. Loved my buys!

One of the things that pissed me off on this trip was the freaking china tourists. So rude and loud.and they don't brush their teeth.Nasty. When we were taking pictures with a rock they pushed themselves into the frame and when my brother was finished taking his pics, one woman called him a 'xiao gou' meaning small dog in chinese. He was like... 'at least I am a dog I don't eat dogs' lol... yea so that was it...

Leaving for Taiwan!

Getting ready to leave for Changi Airport right now. I guess this will be my last post for the week! right now there is an interior designer in my house finalizing my room's designs and my dad keeps insisting that I have many drawers to store my books and stuff...But when will he understand I can just throw my books into a box because I need the space for clothes...Hmm. Anyway, leaving now!

My Brother's Birthday!

4 days ago, on the 4th of December, me and my relaives celebrated my brother's 15th Birthday... I'm wondering why after so many years he's still so young...Anyway, we went to a vegetarian restaurant called ' 7 Sensations ' and ordered loads of stuff to celebrate my brother's b'day...

My brother is the one in red, I'm in black&white and my mom's the sexy one in yellow.

Blowing Candles

Cutting Cake

I'm trying to smile with my eyes but I guess I failed...

Cousins...

I'm so happy because none of the photos were editted but I looked fine in them! Maybe it was because I kept excusing myself to the restroom so I could do my hair...

Overall, it was a fun day. Eventhough me and my brother have gone through lots of fights and disputes, I still love him and I hope he loves me as much too. Although he's still a selfish, rude idiot, He's my selfish,.rude and idiotic brother <3

My Bodyclock is screwed

Since coming back from New Zealand, I've been perpetually tired. Everyday, I'm sleeping from 12am -9am and then 3pm to 7pm. That's 13 hours of sleep everyday and even then I feel tired the next day. Even though I'm sleeping alot, my dark circles seem to be getting from bad to worse... Ahh. and in a few days ( Saturday ) I'll be leaving for Taiwan... Another trip... I was already tired from the New Zealand trip and now it's another trip... Oh well, at least the flight time is only 4 hours in the afternoon, if not I would die...

New Zealand Trip

OMG!! I'm finally back from my tiring but fun trip! It turned out to be more of a camp than a holiday...So much for $2,700... Anyway, it was really a different experience and I want to go through it moment by moment right here. The beautiful scenery in New Zealand was really breathtaking and the people there were super friendly! They would say hi when they realised you were tourists and the cars would stop even before you got onto the zebra crossing! IF you asked for a photo with them, they'll just be like 'Sure!'. They are soooo sweet. Anyway here goes...

DAY 1

The flight was intense... It was a 10 hour night flight from 9.15pm to 7am in the morning Singapore Time!! and through the flight, I DID NOT SLEEP AT ALL!! The first day was horrible. I just wanted to fall asleep the whole time. Because New Zealand was 5 hours ahead of us, we landed at 12pm in the afternoon and I was already freaking sleepy. Anyway, we first headed off to a crater formed by a hotspot volcanoe  and it was gorgeous. Take a look...

Me & Ling Ling, a friend I met there

We then proceeded to an Art Museum which frankly, I was a little too tired to go. But I had to go anyway. The artworks were really nice and creative. But I was too tired to appreciate them, I just kept thinking 'when will we be able to get back to the hotel?'

This artwork was really cool because the flowers were 'pulsating' ; Air was being blown into different flowers at different timings. So it looked like the whole sculpture was breathing. It was really gorgeous.
After the museum visit, we finally went back to the 'hotel' so we thought... BUT WE ENDED UP IN A YOUTH HOSTEL!!! Ahhhh... It was horrible, we were all shocked at the rooms. It was just one room with 4 beds shared by other guys in our group. There was only 1 toilet in the whole level!!!. I was just hoping I could get some sleep...

Night time was horrible! The youths in the hostel ( not from our school ) were creating so much noise!! they were running about along the corridors and were shouting and cursing and having fun. They even asked our girls to hurry up showering and that they were taking such a long time!! SO RUDE! and at midnight, when everyone was abotu to sleep, an indian man suddenly started blasting loud indian music!!! Everyoen was so irritated. The girls together shouted 'SHUT UP!!!'. So anyway that was the first night. I managed to catch about 4 hours of sleep from midnight to 4am.

DAY 2

Woke up at 4am when we were suppose to wake up at 6am. I guess the beds were really uncomfortable. Anyway today we went to the river to collect data. I thought it was really fun because we were able to get into the waters and I took really some incredible pictures!

I asked my friend to take a pic of me. Turned out quite nice.

Stones were really slippery to step on. I fell quite abit. My legs were bruised

Took some modelly pics of Jeannette, a friend I met there.

After this, we went to visit the Maori Tribe people. At first I was apprehensive because I thought they were gonna eat us while we're sleeping. but they turned out to be really friendly and nice and modern! They were so hospitable and sang and danced for us and taught us weavings and traditions. It was really amazing.

This was where we slept for that night...

IN A BIG HALL!

Although I really loved the trival designs in the hall,  sleeptime was really unbearable. People were snoring so loudly I thought I was in a zoo or something. People were sleep-shouting...So I decided to go out at 3am to take a walk outside( Which was not allowed) and the night was really beautiful. After I went back to bed at about 2am, I took a motion sickness pill that would cause drowsiness and I fell straight asleep.

DAY 3

Woke up at about 6.30am when everyone else was already awake. I was hoping I didn't sleepwalk because that's what I usually do when I'm sleepy. But luckily my friends told me I didn't do anything in my sleep. thank god. Anyway,we woke up to a nice breakfast prepared by the Maori Tribe. We then headed to a kiwi farm! It was sooo gorgeous. The breeze, the fruits and the cute kiwi cart we were on. It was a nice experience.

After this, we went to a dock to have lunch and took some scenic photos...

We then went to a museum in Whakarewarewa.

And finally, we went to see geysers and mudpools at Whakarewarewa thermal Valley. It was really fun!

That day was really fun. But I lost $300 SGD singapore dollars!! I was so angry at my carelessness... =(

Anyway, we went to our accomodation after that which was another youth hostel and still looked horrible lol...

DAY 4

We woke up and went to a park to look at some thermal springs and mudpools. The tour guide even told us that in the past 2 years people have died while falling into the 60 degrees celsius boiling water...

After that we visited a dam and then went on to a rainforest where we saw amazing limestone landforms...

We then proceeded to our accomodation. WHICH WE LOVED!! IT WAS FINALLY A DECENT ACCOMODATION WITH PERSONAL TOILETS!!! and it was 2 storeys with 4 beds!!! Ahhhhh! It was heaven!!!

We then headed for dinner and the final de-brief. Where we sharedo ur reflections. I was chosen to share my reflections and I spoke my mind and said the accomodation really sucked the past few days and my teacher was like ' You really wrote suck? the principal is going to read it pls change it' LOL. Anyway during the night, there was sooo much drama...

Some NZ dudes (around 5 of them) told our guys that they liked the girls in our group. Then they told us to introduce them to the girls. But the girls didn't like them because they were 15 LOL! and we were like 17/18...Anyway the teachers saw what was happening and chased us back to our hotels. Then my good female friend, Ashwini, went running over to my hotel and that was when teachers were doing their nightly checks to see if everyone was in their room. and girls/guys were STRICTLY not allowed in each other's accomodations. So Ashwini was panicking like hell and she went to hide in the toilet and it was sooo funny. and then all of a sudden 2 other girls from our group came over to our hotel to asked what was going on and they were caught my the teachers...
Funny shit...

AND THE FUNNIEST THING OF THE NIGHT. our next door group guys( 4 guys ) , 1 of them was sleeping inside while the other 3 guys were outside watching , had their door close WITHOUT ANY KEYS!!! LOL. It was so funny because they were throwing pebbles at the guy sleeping inside to try to wake him up but he just snored away!!! so the teacher asked us to accomodate them and we were up until like 2am before my friend decided to use a long pole to open the door ( which worked). The drama filled night really bonded us. and I finally fell asleep at 2am on the 2nd floor. But when I woke up at 6am I was on the ground floor LOL. So I  guess I sleepwalked. Anyway that was what happened on the last night.

DAY 5

Long bus ride from Waitomo back to Auckland. Before a 10 hr flight back to Singapore!!!

and look what I got for souveneirs!!!

HAHAHAHAHHAA!!!! Stuff I took from the flight! haha I know I'm a cheapo, but whatever! LOL
